David LaChapelle

Daphne Guinness, David LaChapelle and Maybach. Daphne Guinness is a  the no. 1 diva that we should all strive to be like. The heiress to the Guinness Family, she has a fabulous Haute Couture collection to be very jealous of, and only Daphne and Cruella Deville can pull off hair like that (Alice is going as Cruella to the staff party next week, I'm Peter Pan, but Cruella is the kind of second rate diva that I long to be)

Anyway, Maybach have teamed up with the two fabulous creatures to create a new ad campaign celebrating the Maybach Zepppelin. Now, I love me a Maybach, If I ever had a billion dollars in the bank, my car of choice would deffo be Maybach, so I am tres impressed with the photography, cars and fashion in these shots.
I have always been an admirer of LaChapelle and these photos really showcase his great work, he hasn't been in the spot lights as much as I want him to be in such a time where we are being deprived of such beauty that he can produce for us, but these little glimmers of art really give me inspiration.

Earlier this year, David also paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson near his home in Hawaii with some stunning photographs...

Michael Jackson as an angel and David LaChapelle behind the lense. What a dream combo.

MORE DASH THEN CASH..???

This is the last time I am going to Harp on about how wonderful British Vogue is this month, so one last thing before I sit and anxiously wait for Febuary 2010 to come out! Which I do hope I have on subscription as a christmas prezzie from my wonderful brother! (Bro - if you are reading this PLEASE can I have this for my xmas present Mum has details!)

SO the cover:

Looks amazing very 50's au naturale, Rachel Weisz wears a £2,750 Louis Vuitton dress and is photographed by Tom Craig.

My fav thing that Vogue keep doing is a look shoot on 'More dash then cash' every month which I guess is their nod to the recession, they understand that in the financial climate we are in not everyone can afford the designer clobber they are famous for show-casing. So instead they have one shoot that is strictly high street, vintage or charity.

This months shoot is called 'Pretty tough' Lady lace gets all shook up with sugar-almond shades, brothel creepers and arch browed attitude; to wear by day or night.

The shoot reminded me of an 80's Madonna...??? Material girl kind of look???

Love Alice a material girl

Marion Cotillard models for Dior

Another BEAUTY that caught my eye in British Vogue was Marion Cotillard modeling for Dior!

Most surprised to say the least, Marion Cotillard is a French film and television actress and I think she looks absolutely wonderful in this ad Campaign. She looks very 20's with the curves to BOOTY!!! She has a fabulous vintage hour glass figure she has hips boobs and thigh this is very very re-freshing! Marilyn CHIC me thinks???

Love Alice

Lily Allen for Chanel... Thoughts please.....???

So I am sitting flicking through my favourite magazine (British Vogue) and I love looking at the beautiful editorials and glamourous designer adds that fill this wonderful magazine and then.......

I turn the page to see Lily Allen modeling Chanel accessories which I am well aware have been gracing most magazine pages since early October (Don't worry I haven't only just caught on to this news) and I think it has only JUST struck me that it looks tacky... the whole schabang!!! I mean really??? Lily Allen sitting next to the likes of Audrey Tautou and Queen Kate on the the pages of vogue?

I mean I might just be cynical, or maybe even a bit jealous? Of a girl that gets to walk around with the latest Largerfeld on her arm? But we are talking about a girl who used to jump around in a frumpy ball gown and Nike Air Force ones??? I mean really? As they say you can take the girl out of the Nike Trainer but you can't take the Nike Trainer out of the girl...............

Gaga for Warhol

I came across this image of Lady Gaga when I was bored scrolling through google images and I stopped and stared at the image for ages. I thought, this reminded me of the scene from Factory Girl (My fav movie of all times) when Andy Warhol is taking pictures of the paparazzi outside his premiere of 'poor little rich girl'

These thoughts moved me .........

Love Alice

Peter Says: Andy Warhol being one of my main idols in life, every project I ever did at University or college used him as inspiration in one way or another, so of course, I see Andy and I'm in love. I see Gaga, and I see inspired.

Want of the Week

After a long, hard day at the office doing graphic designy things, all one wants to do is shop until one drops! but nay, that shant happen until after pay day.
But that doesn't stop me from continuously searching the internet for the two main items that I want / need in my life.

But anyway, it was a pretty hectic day, and after a hectic day, everyone loves a bit of music to wind down, Kate Bush is my icon of choice, and on she goes, making deals with god and running from hounds of love. But today, I cranked on Kate, and it reminds me of something very ghastly...

Let me take you back to the summer of 2006, first year of University, the rest of my teenage life ahead of me, and an obsession with Kate Bush and a Kate Bush t-shirt...

MY GOD, how things have changed in over 3 years!
Blimey, the pout is still ever present, but goodness look at them skinny arms!! Anyway, I digress.

The T-Shirt is what I am really looking at. Look at it, in all it's splendor.

I found it in a one-off-vintage-shop in Portsmouth called One Legged Jockey. I gasped very loudly when I set my eyes upon this dream as I was trawling through the never-ending rails of the boutique. I was shocked, excited, scared all at the same time, and bought the tee straight away and not a moment too soon.
It NEVER let me down, always cranked up any boring old skinny jean ensemble in a matter of seconds. And then, BAM.

It turned pink in the wash just a few weeks ago.

The kind of pink that wouldn't wash out at all! I was devastated of course. so I chucked it out. I couldn't bear to look at it any longer without having a mental break down. And yet, I still don't understand the meaning of the saying "If you love something, let it go..." ??? What the heck?
Anyway, my want of the century is a Kate Bush T-Shirt that isn't just a silly transfer where u can see the edges of the A4 transfer paper from the page / image limitations.
PLEASE, somebody just crank me up one somewhere!

Anyway, enough of my nostalgia, Here is my want of the week, It shall never beat my want of a life time, but it's easier to access no doubt:

Forest Green being one of my favourite colours, makes this suit one of my favourite suits. At £150 for the complete suit from Topman, I believe that is a right bargain. It's dark enough to wear for a serious occasion, but still that tint of colour will make you stand out, and with dark features like mine, my skin will look even more luscious!!

And that concludes my want of the week.
Two very crucial items. I am in need of a full suit that I actually adore (I have an Anthony Price suit from Topman which is to die for and cost only £50 for the complete ensemble in the sale, but it's a statement piece and I want something for all occasions... like you care anyway?) And of course, the Vivienne buckle boots are always, constantly on my mind / want of the week too...

Peter Lagerfeld.

WANT OF THE WEEK!

So my WANT OF THE WEEK is.......

This Black velvet skater dress from Topshop £38 I want to wear it Saturday night with some really sheer tights maybe ones with a slight pattern on them?

Love Alice

Peter...Sorry I mean Grace Jones!

Whilst starring at Peter today at work, romantically through our macs (or in other words I was sat dreaming about marrying Mark Ronson) I had to do a double take for a moment I thought Grace Jones was sat a Peters Mac working on an e-shot! Take a look....

Peter....

Grace Jones....

Love Alice Ronson ;)

Peter Says: HAHA! Oh Alice, you do make me laugh... although my hair is much bigger on top and lots shorter on the sides these days. And I do seem to pout a lot. That's a true second rate diva for you I s'pose. And don't you forget it, Alice, dear.

Christmas Wishes

For Christmas, everybody should be dressing up. Winter is one of the best seasons to crank out the layers, textures and the fun. It is my favourite season - as it is the time I can pull out my jumpers, gloves, scarves and look tres chic and feel tres fat after much food.

I have compiled a few items I think you guys should be buying for this wonderful season to hit the parties, work or just to hit the high street for a shop-a-thon. Or buy them for me, whichever works for you. I'm XXS, 28S and size 7 shoe. K?

Firstly these two jumpers from Topman Design. They are perfect. Just look at them. the mountain scene and some kind of forest scene on the latter. They are perfectly retro and kitsch. I believe I may have to buy the mountain scene, at £50, it's not bad, but the second jumper is £110... a bit more of a thoughtful purchase as it isn't too dissimilar to something I could find in a charity shop?

The next two items, from Topman again, yes I am slightly obsessed with Topman... is a plain white shirt with very pointy collars and a tweed bow tie. I am in love with monochrome, Karl Lagerfeld and all that... The shirt is great. the black button detail really helps it to stand out and the 70s esque collar really sells it to me. The bow tie is just a bit of fun, wear it during the day on an outing or to work, why not? I wore a kelly green shirt and an emerald bow tie from a charity shop to my Graduation and lets face it, I was the best dressed at the ball. Only to be hindered by the ghastly graduation gown and hat that flattened my excellent quiff. The bloody gown hadn't even been steamed. tsk. (Shirt, £20. Bowtie, £10)

I love this leather pea coat from Topman. This jacket is amazing. I love the retro 70s idea of a leather pea coat - Yes - I have just realized I do go on about the 70s quite a lot now. Probably one of the best eras for clothes, in my opinion. Anyway, I would love this coat, at £160, it's not that bad, but no XXS or XS left means I won't be getting this coat in time for Christmas. I can imagine this coat with some wool or tweed trousers, a crisp white shirt and a pair of simple black boots to complete the look, Perf. I saw some wool trousers in Topman Brent Cross today, I really wanted them but there was no suit jacket to match, otherwise they would have been mine in an instance. And probably very itchy. I don't care though. I really want a suit now...

This velvet suit jacket from ASOS is tailored and a snip at £70. I love the red, What era guys? that's right. And this B Store Nu Bandicoot Tie Shirt, it's cut short so you can't tuck it in at all, but I love the small detail. Why not create a different silhouette? Guys can have the most fun with fashion as it's easy to be different, so why don't I see many guys experimenting? (Shirt, £91 in sale)

And I know these Vivienne Westwood boots are ladies. But I want want want! Preferably in the camel colour, anything in camel is something I adore, I like to look naked, for some reason? "Camel" is practically the same colour as my skin, which I enjoy very much, and all year round tan but a nice tone, NC35 at MAC. But anyway, the boots. They just do it for me every time. Yes, they do remind of college girls who are trying their best to be different, but the leather and the suede together and the fact that they are chunky, they are quite elegant in a strange way - it really works for me.
I am actually thoroughly considering buying these boots as a Christmas present - TO MYSELF! (Boots are £390 from Net-A-Porter)

Why not, eh? Pay day is Friday...? For me and Alice it is anyway...

Anyway, boys, take note, and play around with your fashion, with Topman and ASOS on your side now, it's easier than ever!

Katy Perry stealing MY style.....

Well well what do we have hear.... Katy Perry wearing the River Island Panda beanie.

The River Island Beanie that I brought Months ago! The River Island beanie I wanted before it had even gone into production (one of the many perks working for River Island HQ) and everyone is claiming she started this trend! Most flattered that Ms Perry copied me ;) heheheheh

The panda beanie comes in cream and black (which I have) black and white (which Peter has) and grey and blue (which my friend Emma has) we have all gone a tad crazy for the panda beanie a trend which I can honestly say I started amongst the rich and famous!! ;)

Love Alice - Soon to be Katy Perry's stylist

Anna

Anna Friel was photographed this past Wednesday night leaving her nights performance of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" wearing a stunning red dress with neck detail and a white fur stole.

I know many of you may cry: CHEAP, HIDEOUS, TACKY, PROM DRESS.
I, however, LOVE it. I have always been a sucker for a perfect sweetheart neckline, Very Marilyn, and very flattering, the neck detail elongates her lovely neck, and the pale untouched-by-the-hideous-sun skin glows with her red lip and minimal eye make up. Her beautiful hourglass figure is what makes the dress really special.
We are so used to seeing a grunged up, toned down, leathered up look these days, this was the retro glamour that I needed to get me to get out of the house and get my short back and sides reshaped as I've left it for about 3 weeks now, and I'm in need of a grade one on the sides of my head and back, STAT.

Best Dressed this week

I love the Red Carpet Fashion Awards 'Best Dressed of the Week' poll every Friday. I wish it would go on earlier so I can place two votes - one at work, and one at home. But Nay, it never happens.

This week I was actually stunned to see Lily Allen wearing such a beautiful Prada dress, and with tights, I, like "Fashion Critic" hate tights - I think they should be 10 Denier if anything, and, of course, with a seam. Or Statement tights work, but not just plain black - boring and safe I feel.
Anyway The tights work with the Prada dress, I love the gothic chic look, her lipstick could have had a bit more of a tint to it, rather than just pasting her mouth with her foundation (It looks like she did anyway) but I feel overall, this look works for this week and Lily's body the best. Well done, Lily.

Last Night

I was out and about Last night, Proud galleries was the main stop where me and the girls danced to the likes of David Bowie, Beyonce, M.I.A and TLC... hmm. Yes it was an amazing night, and with work the next day I felt like downing a whole bottle of night nurse just to get sent home.
I didn't of course, and here I am, after a long day at work, getting ready to hit the town again!

Anyway, Here's what I wore...

I actually wore this to work aswell to make my packing a bit lighter, fabulous. Vintage Joy DivisionTee, H&M PVC / Cotton leggings, River Island buckle Siouxsie boots and a trusty old casio calculator watch finished off with my signature massive quiff!

Fabulous, If I do say so myself... mwah xx
