WAGA

So today, being Monday, means we all feel TERRIBLE!!!! Me and Alice went to Brent Cross straight after work to browse the Borders (which is shutting down by the way - I am so upset, went in to buy Vogue Italia, and NOTHING! Devastated!!!)
So anyway, we got a Starbucks and planned our escape route from this dreadful world. Marrying for a green card is still my plan A.

We shot some pictures of our key pieces today:

Alice wore her River Island chunky circle scarf today, which she decided to wrap all around her head to face the cold weather today - It was really the only way we could get from our Diva-mobiles to Borders!

My look was a bit more punky grungey, but I'm focusing on my cheap mondays which I customized last week with studs on the right back pocket to create a great detail for my old jeans. I love this feature and want to stud the whole jean. I'll be one big walking stud soon enough.
Afterwards, we took a short drive to Brent Cross shopping center, browsed the shops and decided it was about time for a Wagamama! We met our two friends, Sarah and Becky who happened to be shopping too (It's the only thing to do on a Monday after work)

While eating our Wagamama, Katsu curry for Alice and I, Alice decided to chuck her pearl necklace all over the floor for unsuspecting diners to slip on. No - she actually was twirling the cheap beaded thread over her silly fingers and. PING. the sound of a hundred beads falling to the floor and rolling all around us around the whole restaurant filled us all with embarrassment.

We did see a few people skid on the stupid little beads on the floor. Alice, however, thought it would be bloody funny to put all the beads that landed on the table into one of my shopping bags. I knew full well that they were in there, but when I get home I tip my bag upside down to reveal my prizes, and SCATTER. The resturant scene came back to haunt me. Damn you Alice. Never shop in PriMark for your second rate diva beads again!!

Anyway, set another scene for you. Me and Alice, shopping a few weeks back. Walking into COS - Alice wondering why the hell we're entering 'such a boring shop' - her words, not mine.
I spot some knee high black leather boots. OOOOH, I shrill with glee, those are FABULOUS. 'Hideous' Alice replies, as she usually does with her monotone-face-like-a-slapped-arse mood she is usually in.
I pop one on my foot, and Suddenly, her mind changes quicker than her split personality disorder. She loved them. Uh-huh, I smugly reply back.

Since that very moment, I've been dreaming about some sort of riding boot. Well, that's not true, I've wanted some for years but now they are more readily available for budget bitches like me... anyway.
Sarah and Becky - the two second-rate-divas in crime we dined with BOTH wore knee high flat boots to dinner, just to rub it in my face I believe...

Sarah pulling a cheeky pose while adrmiring her own boots (Top) wears River Island leather boots
Becky (Bottom) wears Dune Leather boots

JEALOUSY IS VERY UNBECOMING.

Shopping Weekend.

Alice wasnt the only one purchasing fabulous items this weekend. I was too! ha

I bought this fabulous sewing machine to do some little bits and bobs of craft here and there, and fo4 under £50, how could you go wrong? The 50s chic vibe really sold me this sewing machine, My friend Laura has it in red, now that would have been perfect, but oh well. Retro housewife works too.

I also bought some All Saints Black skinny jeans. for £44 with the 20% off promotion All Saints held over the weekend, rather than the £55 they usually cost, I thought that was a right onion bargey!

AND Finally, I bought some black leather (pleather more like) jeans from H&M!!! Only £25 - another bargain. I have the leather leggings from Topshop, but they are not practical at all, they were in the sale a few years back for £10 but I wanted proper jeans, so I got them from H&M! Very happy with my purchases this weekend.

I went shopping and I brought........

Henry Holland tights!!!!

Henry Holland who is one of the UK's most prolific up-and-coming designers with his House of Holland label, was signed on by British hosiery brand Pretty Polly to design a range of tights for autumn/winter 2009, made from sheer and opaque fabrics in a range of designs which reflect his flamboyant style.

Below Pixie Geldof wearing HH tights!!!

Chanel Tattoo......

Well whilst Petey was hard at work today he stumbled across this fabulous picture.... A picture we clearly missed when scoaring through Karl Largerfeld for Chanel Autumn/Winter 09/10 Paris fashion week photos....

Do me and Peter get Chanel tattoos or not???

Sonia Rykiel for h&m

Ssssoooo H&M have had some of THE hottest names in fashion design some utterly fabulous collections for them and there is no stopping the high street store. Next on their list...... Sonia Rykiel which launches in h&m stores on December 5th!

Here is a sneaky peak of the collection.....

It’s all about the detail: as black lace and two-tone nude silks run across beautiful bras and vintage inspired bralets, gold zips, white chiffon roses and cut-out details add the finishing touches to this luxurious line of lingerie.

Materials are luxe and sumptuous, with silks, chiffons and velvet featuring through gorgeous one-pieces, vintage high waisted knickers, chic chemises, sheer chiffon bed jackets and velvet robes, and even laidback luxe bed-bottoms.

In stores December 5th x

Say Cheese, Duckie. Close your legs, Darling.

Just finished watching Julie and Julia, and what can I say? This was a great movie. Meryl Streep, flawless, of course.
She manages to get me every time with her fabulous acting and comedic timing. A true thespian.
And now I know what a true diva Julia Child actually was. I highly recommend everybody see this film. Amy Adams also stars in this film, Meryl and Amy make a good double team with their acting abilities, first Doubt, now this, Whatever next?
I'm going to try and emulate Julia Child in every way, she was bloody hilarious and plebby in the way where she didn't even realize she was a comedy genius! and her voice is exactly the same as one of my old school teachers... Mrs. Sage - My cooking teacher... coincidence? I think not.

That is all.

Exclusivity...

Ok, I don't know what this picture is about, and it has no relation to my post here, I don't know their situation or whatever, but the picture works well from what I'm chatting about...

Anyway, I've been thinking about exclusivity in relationships and wondering what the boundaries were. What are your thoughts on exclusivity?
Here's a quick run through on what I mean; When you start talking / chatting / seeing somebody, how soon do you have to be exclusive to them in the early stages of the relationship?
For instance, would you stop all contact with other potential dates as soon as you go on the first date with somebody? Or would you carry on as if you are single (which you probably are still classed as after one date) and carry on talking / seeing other people? When can u truly say you have begun a relationship anyway? 3rd date?

Do you think it's right to keep your options open or would u stay faithful to one person? I know there are plenty of variables that can change your mind and make you want to stay exclusive...

I wouldn't jump straight into exclusivity unless I felt the spark on the first date, and then when I eventually felt that magic spark, I would instantly break off all other relationships. I don't believe that makes me a bad person.

What say you?

Nicola GODESS Roberts

Peter is a little beauty and sent me another fabulous picture of one of my favourite female celebs... Ms Nicola Roberts attending the 'Make a wish winter ball' yesterday.

I thought I would share this beauty with you!!!!

Make it up.....

Another weekend another chance to experiment with my make-up.... Standard pale skin, blushed cheeks, Red lips and fake lashes, This week I am wearing Eyelure 107.

I thought I would go for thick flicked eyeliner slightly cleopatra... slightly winehouse?

See what you think...

GAGA for GAGA

As you are aware I am slightly obsessed with GAGA.... I find myself not being able to get through my day without watching her 'Bad Romance' video at least once, I am offically obsessed......... ENJOY!!

2 Icons

Me and Alice are totally in love with two divas. But we do not cross over to each others love. I love Beyonce, Alice loves Gaga, and that's the way it stays.
The funny thing about me and Alice is, We'll say we hate everything about an artist, but then we'll own all their albums and know all the words to their songs.
So anyway, I wanted to post my obsession. Beyonce and Gaga on video phone. I cannot stop watching the video. I love Gaga in it, even though I thought she'd be dressed far more crazy, but I love Beyonce's Rockabilly / Chola look at the end of the video.

But anyway, Gaga has defiantly made me a fan with the release of her latest 'album' with 8 new songs, and her last album just slapped on the back to create a 'double feature' - Why not just release an EP with her 8 new songs on it? Everything has to be double feature, posters, flash packaging, bells and whistles. I fall for it every time...

Shot by Hedi Slimane, the new album cover is one million times better than her last album cover, of course. The fashion, the pose, the typography. EVERYTHING!!!
After getting a little listen to 'The Fame Monster' it has a much more consistent sound overall compared to her last album - or current album? Whatever.
Favourite songs include: Telephone (of course), Bad Romance, Monster, So Happy I Could Die, Starstruck.

So Anyway, when Gaga's new album actually comes out, a NEW album and not just a prepackaged relabeled album, I will be excited to buy...

To Mulberry, or not to Mulberry ... ?

Dilemma!!! I really don't know what to do! I have wanted this bag forever! And it is in the special 20% off discount day at John Lewis. I have the biggest urge to drive to my nearest John Lewis and purchase ASAP! But at the same time I'm unsure, it's a lot of money - Yes not as much as full RRP, but it's stilla  lot of money, that could feed me for a year!!!

What can / should I do??? I know what I want to do... well it's obvious what I want to do, otherwise I wouldn't be blogging about it.
Just spoke to my friend Bob, and she said... It's times like this when the motto: 'You only live once' are more valid than ever.

Bob. you bad influence, you are so right...

P.S. So here's what happened. I've had this in my basket all day. I tried to buy it this morning, session timed out. Second time I tried to buy it, Internet stopped working, Third time I try to buy it, OUT OF STOCK!!! Three strikes, I'm out. Well, it just wasn't supposed to be, eh? Well... What's next for me to obsess over? I would never buy this bag full price, with £100 off, this was my only opportunity, and I blew it!!!

Uncle Karl

If there's one person I want to be when I grow up - It's the genius Karl Largerfeld.

I didn't realize he was my icon until a few weeks ago when my friend was looking through some trashy magazine, came across a picture of Karl Lagerfeld and shrieked with glee.

"mmhmmm, mmhmmm, mmhmmm" I heard her approving hums.

"Bob (my nickname - long story that you don't care about) - I see it now. It all makes sense, I see this picture of Karl Lagerfeld and now I know where you get your style from"

I wondered what the hell she was talking about, but when I took a peek at what she was so excited about, it hit me... She spelt it out to me: "The blazers, skinny jeans, leather boots, leather gloves, necklaces, monochrome, perfect hair, gothic chic, male entourage, bitch eyebrowns in check..."

It completed the puzzle in my mind. I had wondered where I had adopted such fabulous style from. Little did I know I had been emulating Karl all along.

I've always been a fan of Karl and his "bitchy" comments, I, however, don't think he is bitchy at all. He has an opinion, he's allowed to. He speaks the truth, and some bitches can't handle it.

Whenever I watch him talk, it's as if everything he is saying is scripted. Everything that comes from his lips is perfectly spoken, his wise words rattle through me.
And his art - The concepts behind his fashion - or rather what I perceive them to be just shut it down!
Who could forget those outrageously expensive plastic vacuum form bags?

Anyway, to conclude this initial post about Karl (this is just an introduction - there will be many more to come) I just want to thank him for being my inspiration, I dream of the day when I go to Paris, walk by him and watch as he looks me up and down with disgust all calls me a 'fat pig' ... swoon.

Bat for Lashes BABY!!!

SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO

Most week days if I am up early enough and EVERY weekend without fail I wack on the fake lashes!!! My fav are eyelure 107, Mac 12 and Girls aloud Nicola!!!

I was flicking through the ASOS magazine this morning and noticed this on lashes which has given me loads of inspiration and ideas for my lashes this weekend!!

I also take great inspiration from Twiggy's eyemake up from the 60's......

Peter says:

Yes, this isn't the best styling in the world, but look at this eye make up. Alice is totally right, every girl needs false lashes in her life on a daily basis, so get practicing!!
For me? I think I'd pile on the false lashes as well as Thierry Mugler Flash on Lashes for drama. Thierry Mugler is my god and saviour...

... As is Nicole Richie channeling Twiggy below. LOVE this shot... can't remember where it's from though? It's been stored on my Mac for years..

Edward

One of my darling friends from the web team kindly brightened up my day today by sending me the most AMAZING pic of Rpatz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy xox

Team British Vogue.....

Whilst my darling Petra is 100% team Parisian Vogue, I am staying loyal to British Vogue.. Alexandra Shulman you are a god.

December 2009 issue of Vogue is my favourite of the year so far, I have read it cover to cover twice, I can't stop flicking back through looking at the editorials over and over again! This cover is based on a Norman Parkinson fashion image from 1951.

What I love most about this December issue is they have looked back through 6 decades looking how fashion has changed and developed. Since I was about 13 I have convinced myself and attempted to convince my parents that I have been born in the wrong era... I am 100% sure I was destined to be born in the 50's and grow up and party throughout the 60's and 70's and count Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgewick as close friends.

Oh and also date and Marry Bob Dylon!

I believe that I would have played out my youth in the 60's and 70's taking my style and influence from women from the 40's and 50's. Marilyn, Jackie O etc I believe I do this now in the way I dress. As Marilyn Monroe is my number 1 icon.

Another aspect that makes this issue of Vogue my favourite of the year is the 'Glamour in Vogue' supplement that came free with the magazine.

'Glamour is hard to define and often elusive, but if you are glamourous and some people just are, you can be glamourous in jeans and sunglasses as easily as a full blown ballgown. Glamour is all about attitude individual style and crucially - a certain confidence rather then the highest heels, biggest hat and sparkliest jewels.'

British Glamour (My favourite) I can't get enough of Vivienne Westwood, Kate Moss, Mary Quant, and Luella Bartley

High Society - Think of the Royals or the Movie Green Gardens...

Another thing the magazine picked up on was the three things most vital in my life and things that looking back through the last 6 decades has been important to so many females... Big sunglasses, Make-up, and the classic LBD.

Jackie O stylie oversized sunglasses....

The classic Marilyn Monroe make up which I stick to for my day time make-up...
*Pale Skin
*Blushed cheeks
*Black eyeliner with a slight flick
*Red vampy lips.

And lastly the LBD (Little Black Dress for those of you who have been living on mars was the last 6 decades.) My wardrobe is splitting at the brim with LBD I cannot get enough of them. I love them they go with everything for any occasion, and my favourite colour happens to be black!

One of my favourite editorials in the issue was the 'Boy Wonders' shoot of Britains young hot actors, models. I feel that the shoot had a very 60's London feel to it.

The shoot including 'Gossip Girls' Ed Westwick aka Chuck looking TRES hot!

He has the Fred Perry quiff look going on which I love love love!!!

It also features the eternally beautiful Daisy Lowe in a faux fur leopard print coat leather skirt and shaggy fringe!

Love Alice (21 yr old trapped in the noughties)
xoxo

You with the comb - You look OK, in every way

Another day, another dollar, as they say. But I ain't seeing that cash in my account - As Mariah once said. I wish I could go on a shopping spree every Saturday and then lay down on my chez lounge every Sunday wearing nothing but a body chain whilst watching something trashy like Desperate Housewives...
Dreams can come true you know... Alice dreamed to work with a diva, and look who's she's working with now. Me, of course.

Anyway, enough of my silly typing, it really has been a long day in the Leading Highstreet Store HQ for me and Alice, and thank Gok it's Friday tomorrow I can tell you that. A very much needed slow, relaxing, UN-strenuous weekend is very much in need.

ENOUGH NOW!

Peter wears: Topman Tee shirt, H&M plaid shirt, LUX Tuxedo trousers, Vintage loafers, Old Navy striped socks, River Island charm necklace, H&M bowler hat...

Alice wears: River Island lace blazer, River Island Military boots, Pri-Mark dress, black tights, Vivienne Westwood necklace.

And don't we look fabulous.
Anyway, my lovers, I'm keeping this blog short, sweet and conceivable while my brain lets me.

Team Jacob

Before getting to the Twilight madness that was mine and Alice's experience at the Vue cinema... I wanna post the fabulous clothes we were wearing today, I know you all want to see...

Of course we'll start with me. Practically everything I'm wearing is womens wear actually.
H&M Dark Grey Velvet Trousers (£19.99) Jimmy Choo for H&M Leather Embellished Shoes (£99), Topshop satchel (£80), Topman Tshirt, River Island staff shop over sized shoulder pad blazer and circle scarf.
With my trusty fox tail clipped to my bag, my look was complete.

Alice wears River Island boots (£74.99), River Island feather bag (£49.99), Black Leggings, Oversized Denim Shirt and grey t-shirt dress, Grey Beanie and Topshop Pleather Jacket. Fabulous.

We actually coordinated very well today, But mucho appreciation for the Choos. Even Sam Lewis loved them, he couldn't keep his eyes off them at a jean's fit I nominated myself for today (Basically trying on River Island jeans in my correct size and giving opinions and posing for front, side and back shots, nothing special, but a good little break away from the desk) And with plenty of skinny male models walking in and out of the office today, I couldn't keep my eyes off the prize either. silly me. Alice was getting all flustered at her desk too.

Now the movie.

If you haven't seen it, Alice is right, Where the hell have you been? Anyway, I loved the movie, of course, but I couldn't help thinking - where was the real drama, I wanted more, More, MORE! Which is very clever, all the twilight-loonies are left wanting more, and probably resort to buying the Robsessed DVD at their local Asda!

With Edward Cullen not appearing in the new movie as much as some of you die hard fans would have liked (And Alice, I had to tell her to pipe down more than once when she caught sight of that beast!!!), I preferred it, like I say in the title, TEAM JACOB!! The lovey dovey story was wiped away in a hot second and the fun started happening! However, there is much more good stuff to come with the new movie, 7 months to go and counting!!!

I did get a bit overheated on the moments Jacob Black came on screen, It just doesn't feel right watching such a 'buff' 17 year old prancing around on the big screen and lusting... does it? I've just realized that bloody fox tail on my bag probably was a dead give away in the theater as to who's team i support eh? Crazed fan much? What next? Alice wearing rhinestones on her face to work??

And the long hair! As soon as he came on screen with his luscious locks, Alice chirped 'HIDEOUS' whereas I couldn't help but loving the grungey, greebo, unwashed, hillbilly, hick, floor gazer look.
Surely I'm crazy?

On that note, I need to go and lay down in a darkened room.
